My Project

In our autism support classroom, every day is filled with curiosity, creativity, and discovery. My students are bright, eager learners who thrive when given opportunities to explore through hands-on activities. Science is one of the best ways to spark that natural curiosity, but we don’t always have access to engaging STEM resources that meet their unique needs. That’s why I am seeking support for the “Can Do! Science Discovery Kit Set”—a collection of interactive tools designed to make science accessible, meaningful, and fun for all learners.

This project will provide my students with the tools they need to experience science in a way that is both accessible and exciting.

These discovery kits encourage students to observe, experiment, and think like real scientists, all while building essential problem-solving and critical thinking skills. For children with autism, hands-on learning is especially powerful because it allows them to use their senses, explore at their own pace, and experience success in tangible ways. These materials will be used during centers to promote STEM instruction, allowing students to rotate through activities that spark creativity and deepen their understanding of the world.

Beyond academics, science exploration helps my students develop important life skills such as collaboration, turn-taking, and perseverance. Every experiment becomes a chance to celebrate curiosity, learn from mistakes, and build confidence. Unfortunately, resources like these kits are not always available in public school classrooms. With your support, my students will have the opportunity to discover, explore, and grow through STEM experiences that inspire a love for learning. Your generosity will bring joy, excitement, and lasting impact to our classroom of young scientists.
