This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a third-grade teacher, I’m always looking for ways to connect classroom learning to real-life topics. Scholastic News and Science Spin do just that—offering current, high-interest articles that strengthen reading comprehension while introducing students to science, social studies, and global events. Each issue includes skill-building activities, vocabulary support, and online resources like videos and interactive quizzes that bring the content to life.

Many of my students don’t have regular access to news or science content written at their level.

These magazines provide rich, grade-appropriate nonfiction reading opportunities that support our standards and encourage discussions about the world. They also promote curiosity, critical thinking, and academic conversations, helping my students grow as readers and thinkers.

Your donation will ensure that every student in my classroom receives their own copies to read, highlight, and take home—helping us bridge classroom learning and home engagement. Thank you for helping create meaningful and exciting learning experiences for my students!
