My Project

What makes our students truly special is their multicultural, multilingual backgrounds, their compassion and competitive spirit, and their natural curiosity—they’re hip to the latest trends and unafraid to ask bold questions or dive into challenging explorations.

We are the Sharks, and like our mascot, we have to move to thrive so I have created a hands on active project for 2026-27 for our awsome students.

Through hands-on science investigations, we keep their minds engaged and their curiosity alive. The supplies we are requesting—mini fans, infrared thermometers, anemometers, and cow eyes for dissection—will allow students to collect real data, test environmental models, and make meaningful connections between what they learn in class and the world around them.

We will be testing how wildfires spread or exploring the anatomy of the human eye. In a world facing growing climate challenges and rapid scientific advancement, we need to prepare students not just with knowledge but with curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability to analyze real-world problems.

Students will simulate wildfires using mini fans, heat sources, and model terrain to see how wind, heat, and vegetation affect fire spread. They'll collect data using infrared thermometers and anemometers to test how climate conditions influence fire behavior—an urgent topic for students living in wildfire-prone Los Angeles.

We’ll also continue our annual cow eye dissections—an unforgettable biology lab where students examine real anatomical structures, make connections to human vision, and explore science in a hands-on, memorable way.

Your support will provide essential tools for these investigations, bringing science to life for over 150 students and helping them grow as curious, capable, and critical thinkers ready to take on tomorrow's challenges.
