Some of my students come from difficult family lives, but they don't let that stop them. We have built a community in our classroom that allows each student to be comfortable with who they are. Even though we are a diverse school, everyone feels included.
About 90% of the students are receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
Most students are living with a single parent or both parents work full time, although many parents are eager to help in any way they can.
My students are eager to learn everyday. They want to know more about the world that they cannot see for themselves. Books are a great way for me to share the world with them.
These books will allow me teach my students about so many things.
They will be introduced to wild animals, taught how to get along with others, shown many cultures around the world, and so much more through read alouds.
I also believe in order to instill a love of reading to a child, you have to show how much fun reading can be. These books will entertain as well as teach!
