Help me give my students a set of binoculars, magnifying glasses, and books to help them love and appreciate the earth.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Brossy de Dios's classroom raised $640
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are very inquisitive and eager 5 year olds. They love to explore their environment. They enjoy looking at dandelions and other flowers in the grassy area near the lunch tables. They will spend a good amount of time watching bugs move about the playground. A set of binoculars and magnifying glasses will help them explore and appreciate the environment around them.
Kids who spend time appreciating nature are more likely to be invested in caring for our earth.
While the binoculars and magnifying glasses will help them explore their immediate surroundings, books like "Baby Beluga", "Sofia Valdez, Future Prez", and "We Are Water Protectors" will expose them to the beauty and wonder of our planet. This will help them develop gratitude for our earth and they will see themselves as guardians of our environment.
Most of my students live in apartment buildings in our very densely populated city. Many don't have much access to green spaces. The resources from this project will help them appreciate the nature that is available to them and will encourage them to explore nature with their families.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
