My Students

Our school serves a rural area in eastern North Carolina. As a Title I school, over 65% of the students qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. Our families are hardworking and invested in their children's education.

My students are naturally curious about the world around them; they are anxious to learn new things and learn best when they are given hands-on tools and materials.

Steam Lab is where they come to discover the many possibilities their future holds.

My Project

Learning and understanding the basic principals of force and motion are vital concepts that elementary age students must master to help them succeed in future Science classes such as Physics.

In the K-5 grades providing opportunities for students, especially girls, to explore and experiment with materials that are fun and engaging, allows them to develop a positive attitude towards Science.

The GraviTrax kits will enable students to build roller coasters and use marbles to test how gravity, height, and distance affect force and motion including variables such as loops, hammers & cannons.
