Help me give my students a trip of a lifetime to the Philadelphia Zoo.

We are a small neighborhood school located in the Wynnnefield section of Philadelphia. We are a K-8 school with approximately 370 students. A large number of our students come from single-parent households. We are a full Title I school, as all of our students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. Trips throughout the year can become difficult for our students, due to the cost. Transportation is a big expense for our trip.
Each student is unique and special.
They all have different strengths and struggles. Throughout the school year, we partner with an Autistic Support class for various reasons, socialization, projects, and trips. This has a tremendous impact on the socialization and education of our students. The students enjoy being included for different events throughout the year. In the spring we will be going to the Philadelphia zoo.
A trip to the Philadelphia Zoo is a great way for our students to observe animals and feel a connection with wildlife. A trip to the Zoo offers so many incredible learning opportunities. The students will have a fun day exploring while gaining knowledge of all the different animals.
Each child learns differently, so the Zoo appeals to all the different learners.
You can’t fully appreciate the significance of the Zoo unless you see it in person. It is important for each student to experience it first hand. A trip to the zoo will expose to the students these mesmerizing animals. The students will get to have hands on experience touching different zoo animals in the petting zoo.
"Field trips are recognized as important moments in learning; a shared social experience that provides the opportunity for students to encounter and explore novel things in an authentic setting. Field trips trips can “deepen and enhance” classroom study (NSTA, 1999)."
