Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second graders are a curious group of students! They are always looking for books that help them explore the world around them! However, my classroom library contains nonfiction animal books that are over a decade old.

Providing my students with NEW nonfiction animal books will help them develop and extend vocabulary, build a repertoire of background information, and help students make connections to the natural world!

In this project I have included National Geographic books for kids because they are able to provide animal facts in a kid-friendly way! In this project, I have included nonfiction books for animals such as: snakes, whales, dogs, cats, turtles and even cheetahs!! I also included a photo keychain where students will draw their favorite animal and place it on the keychain! Please help me provide National Geographic books for my second graders! Thank you!
