My students need engaging math and engineering materials to help them explore, design and build together in the classroom.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Litvak's classroom raised $500

My Students
My classroom is a diverse inclusive classroom of low income students aged 3 to 5. For most of my students this is their first learning experience. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We are located in the inner city of Pittsburgh and provide a free comprehensive program that is designed to nurture and support each child as we prepare them to transition to kindergarten.
My students are very interested in learning about letters, math social studies, engineering and science, and enjoy exploring with technology.
They are dreamers, thinkers and questioners and love to discover new things about the world around them. Despite the challenges they face they come to school each day ready to work and play with smiles and positive attitudes.
My Project
In our classroom the students are very active and curious preschoolers. We encourage hands on learning, exploration and active movement as they learn each day.
STEM skills will prepare my students for kindergarten by teaching them to explore, create, express themselves and solve problems as they learn.
The materials I am requesting for this project will help my students learn math and engineering skills in a fun and engaging way. While using these manipulatives the students will learn to play and work together to build structures. They will have the opportunity to let their imaginations run wild as they design and build, both independently and with other children.
