Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have not had a functional library in years nor have they experienced Makerspaces, like students in surrounding suburban schools. The Girl Scouts donated some items to get our Makerspace started and the kids now love coming to the library to read and create! The #1 rule is that they have to share, so the students communicate about their goal and process, how to compromise, and how to problem solve when it does not go as planned. The STEAM toys have specifically helped students with learning and developmental disabilities.
