My Project

My school is a public charter school that explores learning through a place-based and project based lens. We receive a portion of state funding, but not as much as other public schools. We are currently looking to support teaching a new curriculum with use of iPad technology.

Our students are diverse, each with unique needs and interests.

The effects of learning loss from the pandemic is still showing up for our students. [ Half(kinder) Over half(1st)] of our students are struggling to reach literacy benchmarks for their grade. We have purchased a new foundational skills program that incorporates the latest research on how children learn to read, and a critical component of this is access to iPads for assessment and learning. We are very careful to limit our use of technology in younger grades for only the most important things. Funding for two iPads will help us improve our students’ literacy skills.
