My students need laptops for research projects to enrich our social studies curriculum.

My Students

My students are a bright, energetic group of fourth graders at a Title I school. They love to learn and love to be creative. My students enjoy working together to solve problems, create new things and help others out.

They come from different backgrounds but do not let anything stop them from accomplishing their goals and working hard.

The look on their faces when they accomplish their tasks makes it all worthwhile and makes me honored to be their teacher.

My Project

I want to put the learning in the students’ hands and allow them to create powerpoint presentations on the concepts that we are studying about in social studies. Social studies concepts can seem distant so I want to allow the students to make them meaningful to them by working together in research groups and creating projects that promote higher-level thinking while the students are integrating technology and having fun at the same time. Many of the students at my school do not have access to computers at home so allowing them the opportunity to use the laptops at school in a learning setting motivates them to work harder.
