This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an educator committed to making science accessible, engaging, and relevant, I am launching this project to inspire my students in exploring the world of physical science. We will explore fundamental concepts such as energy transformation, heat transfer, and the scientific method by using everyday appliances, such as a microwave, water heater, and bread toaster, to conduct hands-on experiments that demonstrate these concepts in action.

By engaging with common household appliances, students will not only grasp essential physical science principles but also better understand the world around them, all while developing critical problem-solving skills.

They will learn to make predictions, observe results, and discuss their findings, all essential elements of the scientific method.

This project will allow students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications, all while igniting their curiosity and excitement for STEM fields. By the end of the unit, students will have developed a deeper understanding of how energy works, how heat flows, and how science is all around us.
