I have the most amazing 6th graders every year come into my classroom wide-eyed and eager to learn.
Most 6th graders are unsure of their abilities coming into middle school.
It is a big change for them. I want to tell you a few of the questions I get each first week of school. "What do you mean we don't get a recess?" "We have to change classes 7 times a day, are you serious!" "We don't eat lunch all at the same time? "We don't eat until when? I will starve by then!"
The one thing I love the most about a new class of 6th graders, I get to introduce them to a whole new way of learning. I want them to have fun in school, learn from me and each other. When the kids finally get the hang of things, they are unstoppable!
My Project
Learning about our world is an important part of 6th-grade Geography. Map skills are essential to teaching this skill in my classroom. Each child will have a book of their own to use throughout the school year.
They are fast learners and are always looking ahead to their next project.
With these books, I will be able to give them that opportunity.
These kids deserve every advantage to help them learn. I do my best to make sure they have that in my classroom.
