Exploring Our Learning

My students need a felt board, felt board sets, and Magnetic Write & Wipe Mini Boards to enhance the development of their social emotional skills.

My Students

My students are preschool aged, 4 and 5 years old. Despite the many challenges they may face before coming to school, they are eager to explore and learn. The students are at-risk young children from various demographic factors, cultures, home environments and low socio-economic status. They are limited to educational experiences outside their home. With creative and meaningful activities, the students can show pride in their efforts. Head Start promotes school readiness for children in low-income families by offering educational, nutritional, health, social, and other services.

My Project

The children will be able to connect with new learning materials that will enhance their communication and problem-solving skills.

Social and emotional development involves more than just expressing one's feelings and emotions.

In the library area I would like to add What’s the Rhyme? Sorting Houses, Velcro Felt Board Panel, Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See Felt Set, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Felt Set, and the Jumping on the Bed felt set to library. These materials will boost the children's confidence by given them an opportunity to tell stories in their own words.

Magnetic write and wipe mini boards will be added to the dramatic play center. This will allow the teachers to encourage the children to try difficult activities, which will build positive self image.

By learning these important skills, children have the opportunity for better participation in school, at home, and throughout their lives.
