This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is a self-contained, kindergarten class. My student population consists of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities and Intellectual Disabilities.
Working with this population can be difficult, but it is super rewarding within this environment.
I teach the most interesting, caring, well-behaved scholars ever! My school is a student-centered environment filled with world-class teachers! As a team, we are continuously brainstorming ways to evolve as educators, and we are also advocates for family involvement in the learning process!
My Project
Do you remember being in kindergarten and having trouble sitting on the rug because all you thought about was playing with toys? I want my students to be able to sit on the rug in my classroom. After my students finish their work, I want to give them the opportunity to play with a cash register and explore a wood cube with their friends!
Let’s make kindergarten fun again and give my students the opportunity to sit appropriately and play with their friends!
Please help my students see that kindergarten can be fun and does not always have to involve reading, writing or math. Your generous donation will be treasured in our classroom every day! Thank you so much for your support! It is greatly appreciated.
