My Project

My students are enrolled in the rigorous International Baccalaureate course Digital Society. We explore, research, discuss, and analyze how digital tools impact our world. A constant discussion topic is VR and AR and the many ways they are being used from entertainment to therapy as well as its uses in training and looking ahead to META and the idea that more of every day life will be moving to this virtual landscape. We look into the psychological impact immersive VR has and its ability to affect the brain. While research and discussion is a great starting point we can only understand its impact to a certain extent.

Seeing is believing.

Through personal experience the students will see how this growing technology alters the brain and can allow us to do things we never thought possible before. As a teacher I understand that my class is full of students who learn in a variety of ways and one area I would love to explore more is through hands-on learning. With these headsets my students can see the world in a way they have never seen before. These are the future designers of the future and the added benefit of this resource is invaluable for shaping their understanding of what is available and capable for future digital developments.
