My Project

The past few years we have worked hard to build an outdoor classroom with a garden area. During our time spent tending the garden beds, the students started noticing the birds visiting the outdoor space. This has caused a natural curiosity about the birds leading to many questions and discussions.

Having classroom window feeders, a smart bird feeder with a camera, feed, and books to identify and research local birds, will help teachers guide their students' observation and investigation skills while also meeting many of our state science standards.

Bird-watching also offers a therapeutic outlet for our little learners by reducing stress and anxiety.
