My Project

One of the most exciting things about being a fourth or fifth grade student at our school is getting to join a club. Students can choose between art club, choir, track, dance, or they can choose to be in my book club. This year, there is an unprecedented number of students who are excited to be in the library book club! Every student in our book club gets a copy of each book we read to keep. This ensures that they not only have their own personal copies but also get to engage in meaningful discussions with their peers. Our October book club selection will be The Cursed Moon by Angela Cervantes. This book is one of the selections chosen by the Texas Bluebonnet Committee for third, fourth, and fifth grade students. It is perfect for October because it is both creepy and written by a Hispanic author, tying in perfectly with Hispanic Heritage Month.

By fostering a love of literacy, my book club aims to support students' academic growth and set them up for future success.
