My Students

My students are advanced learners who need engaging challenges. We do activities that inspire them to think and to re-think while working together in a partnership. They need to be challenged with activities that have variability and high-interest.

As advanced learners, they need activities that stretch their thinking!

They are investigators, scientists, mathematicians, logicians, communicators, and risk-takers. My students thrive with innovation and active learning in which they can make choices and decisions. As they explore interesting topics, they make valuable connections.

My Project

My students LOVE to READ and FEEL INSPIRED by MATH. The Mathical Book Prize is an annual award for fiction and nonfiction books that inspire children of all ages to see math in the world around them. We will read these books in class and students can borrow books to read outside of school, too.

Mathical Books will engage our minds and stimulate our thinking!

We'll make connections to real-life ideas and solve mysteries. We'll laugh together at the humor in the literature selections. We'll relate to the protagonists and antagonists we encounter in these stories and see a bit of ourselves in their plots.
