My Project

My students need hands-on materials to explore different concepts. Using ten frames, base 10 blocks and geometric shapes allow students to explore math concepts with their hands. I am requesting hands on manipulates to help my students better understand various math concepts taught in the kindergarten curriculum. I believe that children are able to comprehend more when they are able to manipulate and interact with a variety of different mediums.

Young children comprehend best when they are able to manipulate and interact with their learning.

Math can be a very abstract concept for small children. Being able to manipulate objects can give students a better understanding of addition, subtraction and various other mathematical concepts.
