Exploring Math and Showing What We Know!

Help me give my students a hands on way to practice and show our math skills with pattern blocks, place value dice, and unifix cubes.

My Students

My 2nd graders are enthusiastic learners who come to school looking for love, support, and the chance to learn more. My goal is to make school a safe and fun learning environment. I love finding ways to help my students improve their math and reading skills in fun and engaging ways.

My students are eager to learn and love exploring the environment around them.

They are highly motivated and enjoy using technology to help them learn. My students are so amazing!

My Project

These materials will provide students with a way to show what they know through manipulatives. I have loved implementing math task lessons where students are given a task to explore math concepts before any method is taught. It deepens their understanding and they are able to help teach their peers their discoveries. They will be able to use the pattern blocks and unifix cubes to show their work during these tasks.

2NBT5 requires students to fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value.

Unifix cubes are a great way for students to show their work as they come to understand their base ten strategies. Number of the day also helps students to see the way place value affects numbers.

The privacy partitioners will provide a way for students to show what they know and have learned without being distracted by their peers.

These materials will be used on a weekly bases in our classroom and will help our learning! They are good, durable materials that will be used for many classes in the future. Help us explore math through hands on experiences, then show what we know!
