Help me give my students a magnetic white board, laminating sheets, happy face stickers, chewies for reducing anxiety, and age appropriate wipe and write books.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of my students are children with Autism, and this year, I am teaching a class of kindergartners, aged 5 and 6.
Many of my students are non-verbal, and all of them have limited communication skills.
They need diverse learning modalities and activities to effectively engage with their environment. To meet the state standards, some of my students require activities tailored to their individual learning needs. Using wipe-and-write books enables them to work at their own level. Additionally, since some students tend to put toys and writing materials in their mouths, providing chewies will help minimize the loss of materials.
The green stickers will be used for our behavior charts, and the magnetic whiteboard will replace the one that is currently not functioning. We also use laminating sheets to protect our students' work.
