Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a teenager, growing up and learning how to navigate the changing world can often be very difficult. We know that teenagers have to become self-aware in order to form better relationships with others, and they don't always have the language to describe who they are and what matters to them.
This book will give my students a starting point in discussing the complex world and their developing identities.
As in all the texts we use in class, we will read and discuss what resonates with us and then also debate what they would modify for their own lives. The goal is that we have strong texts that ground us this discussion about identity and values while also practicing our reading and writing skills.
