This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have two groups of students both in special education programs for English. They range from 9th to 12th grade across many different levels of reading and writing.
Although many of my students struggle with school day to day, they are fun loving, boisterous high school students none the less!
Many of my students love to draw and some are very talented. That is why I chose the picture to show the spirit of our class! Each piece of art was done by one of my students. They are all very talented young adults!
My Project
We just finished reading "American Street" by Ibi Zoboi in my English class and now we would like to venture into the realm of fantasy! One of my students recommended we read a novella from the author Kendare Blake.
My students are currently working on writing their own fictional narratives and have been reading other authors to learn about different styles of writing!
We would very much appreciate your support so that I can provide free and relevant reading material that my students are interested in! Thank you in advance for your support! Myself and my students are forever grateful of you for bringing the gift of reading into our classroom.
