My Project

Hello! My goal as a science teacher is to provide as many hands-on and active learning projects in my classroom as possible. One of those projects is a marine ecosystems unit that utilizes our two aquariums in class. These aquariums are equipped with platys, a betta tank, live plants and multiple shrimp! It provides our students with an interactive and engaging foundation for our water, climate change and marine ecosystems unit throughout the year. Students love the aquariums and their inhabitants; it even provides them the ability to take care of something and feel ownership of their ongoing care.

The supplies in this project would allow to continue utilizing these awesome aquariums in our classroom and continue to use them as a hands-on comparison, demonstration and foundation for our earth science curriculum.

These supplies would provide further tools to enhance the learning in our classrooms, as well as help us maintain the supplies we are running low on.
