This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The 3D printer will help my students by allowing them to bring their geometric concepts to life by creating physical models of 3D shapes that they have designed, and then they will compute for the Surface Area and Volume of their designs. I also included items I need to complete our project, like the printer tools kit needed for the 3D printer and the filaments we needed for the printer
output.
The colored printer will help my students to visualize 3D shapes, it allows my students to highlight specific features in their work.
By introducing 3D design and technology in using 3D printing, students will not only learn Geometry but also gain exposure to technology and design process, fostering a broad set of skills applicable beyond the classroom.
What makes my students special is their diversity of strengths, perspectives, and enthusiasm for learning. They come from different backgrounds, bringing unique experiences and ways of thinking to the classroom. I teach MYP IB Honors Geometry Class. Many of my students have a natural curiosity and a willingness to explore new concepts, especially when they can see how they apply to real-world problems. They are problem solvers at heart, whether they’re approaching math, technology, or design. Some excel in hands-on projects and enjoy bringing abstract ideas to life through activities like building 3D models, while others shine when it comes to critical thinking and analysis. They understand that learning is a journey, and they often encourage each other to push boundaries, experiment, and learn from mistakes.
