My Project
Providing STEM materials for students at a Title 1 school, in a rural town, can have such a significant impact on their growth and learning. STEM projects would allow my students to design, build, test their own creations, and foster problem-solving as well as critical thinking skills. Hands-On science exploration kits will help my students engage with nature and the physical world in an exploratory, self-guided way. Engineering and invention materials will help my students visualize and experiment with engineering principles by creating their own models and solutions. My students are naturally curious and love to explore.
My goal is to foster curiosity with hands-on experiences that will really spark their love for learning.
I want to encourage self-directed learning and curiosity with minimal teacher intervention. The materials I have chosen to add to our classroom will allow my students to physically manipulate objects and engage in trial-and-error learning.
These tools and the implementation of them will not only foster a love for STEM but also help my students develop into lifelong learners who seek out new knowledge independently. These resources would provide equitable access to high-quality STEM learning for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity due to the rural location of our school.
