This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Adding extra sensors to Microbits can greatly enrich my student's learning experience in their Computer Science class. These additional sensors extend Microbits' capabilities beyond their basic functionality, offering students a more comprehensive understanding of programming concepts and real-world applications.

Firstly, integrating extra sensors such as temperature, light, or motion allows students to explore various input data types and develop more sophisticated and practical projects.

By working with diverse sensors, students can tackle a broader range of problems and learn to adapt their coding skills to different contexts, promoting creativity and problem-solving abilities.

Moreover, incorporating additional sensors encourages interdisciplinary learning, as students can explore connections between Computer Science and other fields like environmental science or engineering. For example, they can create projects that monitor environmental conditions or design devices for home automation.

Furthermore, these sensors facilitate hands-on, experiential learning, as students can interact directly with their projects and observe how their code impacts real-world phenomena. This tactile engagement fosters a deeper understanding and retention of programming concepts.
