This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My daughter and I are team Grant both teaching first grade in a Spanish/English dual immersion program. We are excited to take creativity outdoors and explore watercolors and nature together. We would use the watercolors to paint landscapes, trees, animals and habitats. There would also be chances to explore painting using objects from nature-acorns, dandelions, feathers, grass or pine cones. The community we work in is 100% on free meal program and extremely diverse. It will be a great opportunity to include visual arts in our rigorous curriculum allowing certain students to shine in ways that they might not academically.
