Help me give my students sensory bins to provide them with the opportunity to explore and learn through hands-on tactile play that engages their senses.
I am requesting some sensory boxes for exploration play in preschool. When students arrive to school in the morning, I love to place sensory boxes at their seats instead of typical worksheets.
Sensory bins provide opportunities for children to explore multiple senses, including sight, sound, touch, and smell while also building fine motor skills.
My students enjoy running their hands through the filler material and watching what happens as they pour it, mold it, and build it up. The materials that are put in a sensory bin provide a wonderful tactile sensation. Sensory boxes also elicit conversation between the students, which is very much needed at this age.
My students love coming to school. Most of our activities are play-based, however they all have a secret academic goal embedded in them! These sensory boxes would be a wonderful addition to my classroom.
