My Students

My PK students bring me joy because I get to see the world through the eyes of children. Everyday my students walk through the doors ready to learn and play with their friends. My students are curious and always asking questions. One of our favorite parts of the day is after nap time, where students have the choice to pick a book and read on the carpet. As a teacher I enjoy creating opportunities to expose my students to new topics and taking time to explore their interests.

My Project

Our sand and water center has been one of the most popular centers in my classroom. My students have enjoyed measuring rice into containers, looking for letters and numbers and endless cooking play. The kinetic sand and water beads will be a new addition to our sensory table. These two materials will allow students the opportunity to explore additional textures. Mini construction trucks will be added to the bin during our study of buildings and construction to allow for additional play and exploration. The muffin cups are a great tool to help students sort objects in the sensory bin. I also plan to use the muffin cups in another sensory activity in our room, play dough.
