Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with students who are talented learners but who lack experiences with Southwestern history. I want to open their imagination so that they see history different and make connections with our past.
In our 7th grade New Mexico history class, students will bring the past to life through hands-on art activities that spark creativity and deepen understanding.
By creating pottery, story quilts, tin tapping art, and historical murals, students connect personally with the people, traditions, and landscapes of New Mexico's rich and diverse history. These creative projects transform learning into memorable experiences, making history feel real, relevant, and alive.
