My school is offering Environmental Science as an elective. This project will allow students to explore air pollution and the issues surrounding it through hands-on activities.
My students love hands-on activities like these!
With the Inquiries in Science: Air Pollution kit, my students will investigate air pollutants in our area, learn about sources of these pollutants, and their impacts on society. This is followed by a student-designed investigation to determine the effects of different pollutants on organisms. Students will investigate ways in which air pollution can be reduced and develop an action plan to help reduce air pollution. Stereo microscopes and stirring rods are needed to enhance my students ability to conduct their own experiments, while using authentic scientific tools.
