Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My fifth grade students are working diligently to increase their 21st century skills. They are highly motivated students in need of higher level thinking opportunities. I am interested in supporting my students to achieve their dreams.
My students are deserving of the best the world can offer because they are our future!
They are a fun-loving, creative, and dedicated group of learners coming from primarily Latino families in a lower socioeconomic community in suburban California. Our school has about 1,000 students in a PreK-5 environment where free or reduced-price lunch is the standard. We are co-located with a Magnet school on our campus.
My Project
Well, we just got our LEGO Mindstorms EV3 project funded and will need some expansion pieces to develop our robot projects. This LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Expansion Set will do just that. Having the supplemental building materials will give my students more creative adventures in science, math, and engineering. These adventures can lead to writing activities about their creations.
Stimulating young minds to discover and create while learning will make a lasting impression on them.
My students deserve to have this opportunity. Robotics is exciting and brings motivation to most children. There is never a dull moment when students are in the creation mode.
Please help my students to discover the power within them to change the world by learning more about how things work.
