Expanding Worlds: Diverse Graphic Novels & Colorful Creations!

Help me give my students a vibrant learning experience! Our cart includes a variety of Multi-cultural engaging graphic novels to spark their imaginations and essential art supplies like paint, construction paper and copy paper for creative projects.

My Project

The goal of this project is to cultivate both literacy and artistic skills through the lens of diverse cultures. This selection of multicultural graphic novels will make a difference in student learning because it offers engaging storytelling while exposing students to a wide array of traditions, histories, and perspectives.

As students immerse themselves in these visual narratives, they will then have the opportunity to translate their understanding and emotions into art using paint and construction paper.

This hands-on process encourages critical thinking and allows for a more profound connection with the material. Furthermore, copy paper will serve as an essential resource for initial sketches and planning, fostering a crucial step in the creative process and reinforcing their learning journey.As a veteran teacher, I've seen firsthand how crucial it is to provide targeted support for our sixty sixth-grade minority students, as they often navigate systemic barriers; DonorsChoose offers a vital pathway to ensure these bright young minds receive the resources they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
