This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students brighten my day, every day. Their energy and thirst for knowledge is very obvious. My students have taught me many things about learning and about having fun through learning. They want to learn now, they want the information now, and they demand fun learning now.

As a teacher, I must meet their demands by giving them what they need in-order to be successful.

They make me a better teacher, and I learn a great deal from them too. I am very thankful to spend time with them.

My Project

Vocabulary helps children understand what other people are saying, and it will also helps them comprehend what they are reading. Vocabulary is important because it is the foundation of comprehension. Having access to materials that will build my students' vocabulary will benefit, not only in my class, but will last a lifetime.

Having immediate access to Vocabulary Journals and Time for Kids, as well as vocabulary games and materials, will be extremely beneficial to my students.

This year, my academic focus for the students is to increase their vocabulary through different modalities. Giving the students opportunities to increase vocabulary, on a daily basis, will increase the chances of my students increasing their vocabulary.

I have started reading groups that focus on specific reading components. I would like to have more vocabulary materials, because I do not have many at the moment. Students will visit the vocabulary center daily. By the end of the week, all my students would have visited this center and have acquired new skills and new words to add to their vocabulary.
