Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Nonfiction reading sparks curiosity and deepens understanding of the world. Our 5th graders love exploring topics like history, science, and culture, and the "What Is...?" series is the perfect fit for their growing minds. These books present complex topics in a way that's easy to read, engaging, and filled with fun facts and illustrations that capture students' attention.
We are requesting a collection of books to enhance our nonfiction section, giving students access to high-interest, engaging materials that will boost their reading skills and knowledge.
With this project, we hope to add a variety of titles from the "What Is...?" series to our classroom library. From "What Is the Declaration of Independence?" to "What Is the Solar System?" these books will give our students access to quality resources that support their love of learning and help them meet critical nonfiction reading standards.
These books will also support independent reading, book clubs, and small-group instruction, providing all students—regardless of their reading levels—the opportunity to connect with content they love. Your donation will empower our students to become stronger readers and lifelong learners.
