My Project
As a dedicated first-grade teacher, I am committed to fostering a love for reading in my students. I believe that all children deserve access to books that cater to their individual reading levels and interests. This project seeks to enhance our classroom library by acquiring a variety of leveled readers that will support my diverse group of learners.
In my first-grade classroom, I have a wide range of reading abilities among my students.
Some are just beginning to recognize letters, while others are already reading simple chapter books. Unfortunately, our current classroom library lacks sufficient leveled readers that can effectively meet these varying needs. Limited access to appropriate reading materials can hinder their growth and enthusiasm for reading. By adding a selection of leveled readers, I can ensure that every child finds books that are both engaging and accessible, helping to build their confidence and skill.
1. Provide a range of leveled readers that cater to different reading abilities in my classroom.
2. Foster a love for reading by allowing each student to discover books that interest them at their appropriate reading level.
3. Improve students' reading skills through consistent practice with accessible texts.
