This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Working in a Title I school can be very challenging, especially to our students who are in temporary housing, travel far distances to attend school, and are in foster care. In my Integrated Co-Teaching classroom, it is imperative to tap into the different learning styles of each student through visuals, technology, dialogue, and more. However, with minimal resources, it can be difficult.
My students want to be able to learn in a classroom that has flexible learning styles and accessible materials to work towards their goals.
They enjoy being able to use different techniques and strategies throughout their learning. My goal, as their teacher, is to inspire them to be the best they can be and to create a positive and safe environment for learning.
My Project
As a previous fifth grade teacher, it is important to provide reading materials that are appropriate to my now seventh grade students. There are many times where students find it difficult to find reading materials that are on their grade level and interesting. This project is to help students find a book that they love.
Giving my students a diverse library will help them improve their independent reading levels!
Students who also speak Spanish will be provided with texts that are in their language and that they can connect to.
