Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am a 4th grade teacher and single dad and the pull between ensuring my students have all they need and making sure my family has what they need is strong. My students are wonderful and through the year I have noticed that they have taken a liking to gallery walks, around-the-room task cards, and presenting information that they have learned. We currently have a small whiteboard but it is no longer as functional as it used to be. My students enjoy writing on it and presenting the lesson they have learned to one another and it has taken a beating. We need a new, larger mobile whiteboard, as well as a class set of headphones. Though the year is coming to an end, we are as active as ever, with projects and diagrams, we are on the move faster than before.

With your help, we can continue the excitement and deeper learning, public speaking, and independent exploration within the classroom.
