Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am fortunate to have a great group of students who are eager to learn. They come from low-income families with little to no support at home. Regardless of their socioeconomic struggles and home situations, my students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions!

They arrive in my classroom ready to try new things and take on new challenges in order to grow both personally and academically.

Due to the pandemic, most students fell behind academically from their previous year. Now that we are back in classrooms, I am doing my best to fill the gap and help students reach their full potential.

As second graders, students need to become tech-savvy because most of our curriculum is accessible online. My students enjoy and increase their learning when the content is through technology and engaging. Therefore, having an iPad available for students will be great to use during small groups and provide extra support for my EL students. The iPad would be a great asset because I can apply it to all content areas and it would be another resource for my students to rely on for learning. They are truly an amazing group!

My Project

iPads are quickly becoming a popular and powerful educational tool for classrooms. Beyond the immediate benefit of engaging students, iPads can improve education efficiency. They are being used in education environments around the world with great success. We can have paperless classrooms, take attendance, share interactive presentations and test our students, all from the iPad. This enables us, the teacher, to support traditional learning with apps that further instill numeracy and literacy skills through gamified education. Technology like iPads and tablets allows students to embrace the digital age as a foundation of their education.
