My Students
My students are some of the most eager to learn individuals I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. They are incredibly passionate, creative, and intelligent.
My students are enrolled in a special education cross categorical classroom, which means that the students possess a myriad of exceptionalities - ranging from autism to specific learning disabilities to emotional/behavioral.
My students range in age and ability level. I have eight students, whose grades range from Kindergarten through 4th.
Despite their individual challenges, my students do not lack the ability to be pushed to unimaginable heights! As their teacher, this serves as a challenging task, at times. Due to their range in abilities and grade levels, I am not able to teach in a "whole group" setting. This is where our project comes in...
My Project
My older students need books in their classroom library that are both intriguing and at their level. My students love books about historic figures. They are going to go wild when they see all of the "Who Was" books in their library!
In addition, we need some materials that help to make our classroom organized, as well as functional.
Between the classroom library additions and classroom materials, our classroom will be up and running in no time for the start of the new school year! It takes a lot to keep our classroom functioning well, but with the help of this Donor's Choose project, it makes it that much easier!
