My first graders are enthusiastic for school to start up again. These students are authors, engineers, scientists and avid readers. They have such big hearts and want to do so many big things.
They come from diverse backgrounds and have already brought so much to our classroom.
Despite what a challenging time this is for everyone, they continue and will continue to face this adversity with their best effort.
My Project
The students have outgrown their current small group table. This table is vital for our day. Because the space is now too small for them, I find them distracted by accidental bumps and chairs getting tangled instead of focusing their attention on what we're learning. Our small group time is when students receive differentiated lessons for reading.
These wonderful stories would be great additions to our classroom library.
The students love learning about other cultures and expanding their knowledge of current social movements. These books will provide our class with conversation starters.
