My Students

Do remember having to wait to know which questions you missed on a quiz? Do you remember not knowing what you don't understand after a lesson is over? My students will benefit from instant feedback, and will be able to learn material quickly and accurately!

My students are gifted and advanced ninth through twelfth graders who are competitive and bright!

We are a public, comprehensive high school located in the suburbs. My students like learning by inquiry, completing experiments, and analyzing data! They are highly motivated, and work hard in the classroom and their community. They love to compete with each other to see who is the brightest!

My Project

Adding on to an automated response system originally purchased through a Chevron Teacher Grant, my students will be able to expand the existing system of 8 remotes to a total of 20 remotes. This will allow my classes to respond as pairs or singles rather than groups of 4-5 students. I will be able to assess review questions, assess lab concepts before, during and after the lab. I will be able to assess content understood at the end of each day. Students will gain instant feedback as to what they know, and what they need to focus their studies on. Review and other study assignments can be played as competition games in a jeopardy like atmosphere motivating my students to master material.

By expanding the number of students able to respond in smaller groups, each student will be able to better analyze their individual strengths and weaknesses with respect to content.

This will lead to more focused individualized intervention. Students will be able to submit their own presentations and create their own reviews using this system. What a great way to promote ownership of one's education!
