This is my first full school year back in the classroom in 7 years and I would like to provide my first-grade students with more up-to-date learning opportunities. Currently, Social-emotional learning (SEL) and STEAM are being pushed in education. SEL is crucial for everyone post-pandemic and with the rate of technological advancement, STEAM is where learning is flourishing.
By supporting my project, you are helping my students grow their hearts and their minds.
I would like to have SEL read-aloud books for students to listen to and learn from, as well as STEAM activities for the students to explore. SEL books will teach them about feelings and how to deal with them appropriately, which is needed after the pandemic. These lessons will hopefully carry over into the various group activities they will be doing in class, such as the STEAM group activities/projects where they will need to learn to work with others. STEAM projects allow students to use their minds and their hands to imagine, build and create.
