Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Over half of my students qualify for our free school lunch program. Many live in migrant apartment housing. Several of my students' families work in the fields or do farm work as their​ job.

All of my students are learning two languages, both Spanish and English.

They are being taught daily in both languages.

All of my students are eager to learn. Their parents want them to work hard in school and make a better life for themselves so that they do not have to follow in their footsteps and do farm work.

My Project

My students need some stories to listen to during our daily literacy center time that are multi-cultural and relate to what we are learning during our whole group classroom daily lessons. These specific stories chosen will expand students cultural awareness and help them understand the world and those around them on a deeper level.

These listening center books will also be added to a school wide listening center library so that other teachers can also check them out for their students to enjoy also.

Our students will thoroughly enjoy listening to these wonderful stories!
