My Project

A previously funded project for Adafruit Circuit Playground Express boards gave my current computer science students the valuable opportunity to program a device that is outside of the typical introductory class experience. They were able to work with the boards and their embedded lights, speaker, and sensors.

Next year I will have more CS classes, and so I need to Expand the Playground to ensure that every student will get an opportunity to program in this new and exciting way.

Students spend a great deal of time programming for the computer screen. These circuits exist independently of the computer and can be used in a variety of ways. My classes will get the opportunity to mimic devices they know, create new ways of using the boards, and even express themselves through interactive art by using all the features on the circuit boards. The covers will expand the lifetime of the circuits, hopefully making them more robust as students manipulate them.
