Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Please help my 8th grade students develop a love of reading by providing new books for our classroom library! I teach 8th grade reading and writing at a Charter school in a low income community.
Many of my 8th graders are reading below grade level. I am having trouble engaging my lowest readers in literature because most of what is written at their current level is geared towards younger students.
I want to make my classroom library accessible and enjoyable for all students by adding books with teenage content that are written at a wider range of reading levels. These new books will help me make sure that ALL of my students leave my class this year as avid readers.
