Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students at Castlemont are amazing young people who face many challenges outside of school that impact their learning and overall mental health. These challenges range from housing instability, loss of parents/caregivers, mental health, violence, food scarcity, etc. These challenges affect our students both physically and mentally. We understand how important physical exercise is for both physical and mental health. Exercising/weight lifting provides many benefits including reducing anxiety and depression, improving sleep, boosting mood and overall health improvements. Help us provide exercise equipment for our students to utilize to improve their overall health and academics.
